Are you an introvert? Have you ever shied away, or noticed yourself retracting in the face of the extrovert, so as not to steal her thunder?
If you have, that’s most cordial of you – thanks. But if you’re politely shying away, please stop it. Your attempts to hide are doing favours for none of us. Despite what you may think or believe about yourself, you have a responsibility to shine brightly.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.” Marianne Williamson
You need to give
Your need to contribute and pioneer isn’t open to negotiation. We can’t afford for the things you’ve dreamed of to remain in the closet of your mind – they’ll only gather dust!
Our hope is that you’ll stop being so polite – so British – and instead take the plunge.
So whether you’re feeling courageous, strong and full of faith, or dejected and fearful of upsetting the apple cart, please step forward and stop hiding your God-given self to the world around you.
After all, you’re made in his image, and we want to see more of him.
Come on, we’re all waiting!
What will you do next time you have an opportunity to speak up?
