I love to shake a leg!
And throughout the year there have been a few popular chart songs – much to the amusement of my children – that have got me dancing in the kitchen with a wooden spoon in hand.
So as we approach the end of 2010, I thought I’d share just some of them for your listening pleasure.
Unfortunately, because of advertising restrictions I was unable to embed the videos in this post, so you’ll have to follow the links to enjoy!
You may or may not like to dance around in the kitchen, but if you do, please leave a comment below and let me know what your leg shakers in 2010 were.

We need to stop placing pressure on ourselves to live up to the expectations of others – particularly when it’s at the cost of being true to who we are.
Much of the challenge stems from the inner desire we all share to be liked – especially by those who we look up to or admire.
Respect them – yes we should! Honour them – yes we should! Emulate and aspire to have similar (good) character attributes – yes we must!
Become a clone of them – NO WAY!!!
Forgive me for stating the obvious, but we’re the best at being us. No one else can do it like we can. We’re the only ones capable of pulling it off to a decent standard, so we should feel permission to do so to the best of our ability.
Ironically, though its possible for us to spend an alarming amount of time emulating someone else – that’s not what will benefit us or others. Neither is it what excites, or endears others to us. It does the opposite!
People want to see the real You. People long to see your personality and character shine through in every interaction. Why? Because seeing your congruence – the real You – gives them permission to be authentic. And as they observe your courage and resolve to be You, they’ll be encouraged and motivated to do the same. You will inspire them!
When you’re You – others can find the confidence to be themselves too, and to grow confident with who they are – shortcomings and strengths alike.
Truth is, being someone else should be left for someone else – not you! So whatever you’re doing, wherever you’re doing it, do the world a favour and make sure it’s the real You that’s present for others to see.
Be You!

I received this from someone in our church.
Though humorous, it’s worth considering if you’re aware of the challenges of gathering people to pray.
Latest news reports are that five terrorist cell groups have been operating in many of our churches. They have been identified as:
Bin Sleepin, Bin Arguin, Bin Fightin, Bin Complainin, and Bin Missin. Their leader, Lucifer Bin Workin, trained these groups to destroy the Body of Christ. The plan is to come into the church disguised as Christians and to work within the church to discourage, disrupt, and destroy.
However, there have been reports of a sixth group. A tiny cell known by the name Bin Prayin is actually the only effective counter terrorism force in the church.
Unlike other terrorist cells, the Bin Prayin team does not blend in with whoever and whatever comes along. Bin Prayin does whatever is needed to uplift and encourage the Body of Christ.
We have noticed that the Bin Prayin cell group has different characteristics than the others. They have Bin Watchin, Bin Waitin, Bin Fastin, and Bin Longin for their Master, Jesus Christ, to return.
NO CHURCH IS EXEMPT!
Any thoughts?

How often do we find ourselves faced with a barrage of abuse from voices telling us we’re no good?
It’s more than likely that many of us encounter these voices daily. To varying degrees, from the moment we wake we’re faced with an onslaught of negativity that’s unhelpful to our well-being.
But for some reason we often refuse to acknowledge this. We’d rather suffer in silence for fear of how we’d be received (and afterwards perceived) if we made ourselves vulnerable and openly shared what we’re living with.
The doubts, anxieties and cynicism, about ourselves and those around us, that can often be the cause of our isolation, get the better of us – and we find that we’re crippled to the point of dysfunction.
That’s not supposed to be the way! We’re not meant to live under the cosh of these onslaughts that cause us to be fearful of stepping out into what we’re called to be.
This is why we’re to embrace truth – to digest truth. To saturate and immerse ourselves in truth. For it’s the Truth that empowers us to be freed from the negative thoughts that prevent us from moving forward.
We’re to live in freedom!
